4) Outline

We have studied ecology and biodiversity in Bornean tropical rain forests in Lambir Hills National Park, Sarawak, Malaysia since 1992. The project is characterized by long-term monitoring of plants and insects for more than 15 years. In addition, many studies on biological processes in the forest canopy have been conducted using tree towers and a canopy crane installed in the park; the site is one of the most imporatn field site for the canopy biology in the Asian tropical region. Recently we have expanded our research theme to include effects of human activities on the ecosystems.
