Abstract<\/strong>:
\nThis talk is an initial historical explanation of why fraternities at
\nthe University of the Philippines engage in violent clashes throughout
\nan academic school year. It will explore the causes of these conflicts,
\nthe main actors involved, and how these \u201crumbles\u201d (as they are known)
\naffect internal university affairs as well as UP\u2019s relationship with
\noutside political actors.<\/p>\n
