The situation faced turmoil when bio-fuel activities were being accused as the cause for a global food shortage, land grabbing and a new environmental problem. In response to the situation, the UN secretary-general, Ban Ki Moon, arranged a multi-agency investigation involving the UN Energy Programme, the UN Development Programme, the Department of Economic and Social Affairs and the World Food Programme in 2008. At that time, rather than make a definitive judgment on biofuel, Ki-Moon requested a comprehensive assessment.<\/p>\n<p>In line with the UN multi-agency investigation, the workshop aims to elaborate the possibility for having an inclusive innovation where it promotes a harmony between science, society, and the environment.
