Under the situation that the traditional hired labor dependent large-scale farm management is becoming difficult due to wage hikes in rural areas with rapid economic developmet in various parts of South Asia (including Punjab, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, and Odisha, and Bangladesh) , the land sales and/or tenancy markets are expansing in recent years. The objective of this study is to investgate the behavior of dominant castes traditionally monopolyzing land in each region, the direction of land transfer, and the emergence of new agriculturalists, etc. |
