We will also search a way to develop a platform to promote sharing these materials. In the first year, technical problems concerning the media conversion and legal issues on the collaborative preservation and sharing of the materials will be discussed. In the second year, we will have more concrete discussions and proposals on feasible networks for the collaborative preservation and sharing.<\/p>\n<h5 class=\"base_h5\">Description<\/h5>\n<p>The aim of the research is to create a platform to preserve newspapers from various Southeast Asian nations for a long period of time by means of media conversion and to share them among internal and external libraries of universities and institutions for Area Studies in Southeast Asia. It is also intended to promote the use of information on these newspapers to bring new developments to Area Studies in Southeast Asia.<\/p>\n<p>To establish methodology for the shared preservation and utilization of newspapers, which are the basic materials for our research, will promote the use of the materials and enrich informational resources for the Southeast Asian Region as a whole.
