The study will research from a comparative perspective (a) the political participation of LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender) peoples and (b) the responses from the state and society to the LGBT community. It will focus on the following four fields; 1) social movements of LGBT people, 2) state, 3) society, and 4) judiciary and law.<\/p>\n
The study will research from a comparative perspective (a) the political participation of LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender) peoples and (b) the responses from the state and society to the LGBT community. It will focus on the following four fields; 1) social movements of LGBT people, 2) state, 3) society, and 4) judiciary and law.<\/p>\n
The research on the LGBT movement will shed light on a) the strategy and organization of LGBT movements and b) the influence of democratization and globalization upon the movements. The research on the state will analyze policies and ideologies regarding LGBT communities. The research on the society will be conducted from the perspective of history and religion and will focus on the changing perspectives of the society toward LGBT communities. The research on the judiciary and law will focus on court cases and the legal status of LGBT people in various jurisdictions<\/p>\n
