国際シンポジウム: 「景観から地域レベルにおける 熱帯林生物多様性保全と持続的開発のチャレンジ」

概要：
熱帯林生態系の高い生物多様性と自然資源供給源としての価値は広く認識される一方、土地利用変換や非持続的な利用の結果、残された自然林の面積の減少、分断化、劣化の進行が続く。この状況の中、世界的に景観レベルでの持続的開発の重要性が認識されるようになってきた。自然林・二次林の生物多様性や生態系機能についての基礎的な知識は、景観から地域レベルでの熱帯林の保全に貢献できるのか？この半日シンポジウムにおいては、８名の国際的に活躍する講演者による研究紹介と聴衆も含めてのデイスカッションを通して、この大きな課題についての今後の研究動向について考えたい。
