Overview
Charting the Geography of Power: Visualizing the Shifting Landscape from Imperial to Postwar East Asia through War Crimes Trials |
---|
This project aims to move the history of war crimes studies into another paradigm, namely to visualize the connections between war crimes and their legal prosecution in postwar East Asia. We will investigate the ways in which the wartime Japanese authorities adapted to postwar contingencies, and how the Nationalist and Communist Chinese governments responded in turn. The overall goal is to build on the success of achievements in GIS database-building and the webpage. |
International Comparative Studies on East Asian Public Deplomacy and its Changing the local Identity in 1940s-1960s |
During the structural change period as World War II, the end of the War and the outbreak of the Cold War, we advance international collaborative research on the public policy, civil policy and educational policy to foster the national and cultural advantageous images on domestic and foreign country and analyze influence to the local identity or collective identity, beyond the country. |
A Surge of System Risk and Harmonized- and Pluralistic-Order Building in the 21st Century Asia Pacific |
We’re mainly in charge of the social and culture study to rethink the East Asia region in the Pacific Rim. Specifically, we consider various problems about the population problem with the issue of low birthrate and aging, the actual situations of the various and multilayer-like social order, the social problems of transforming area identities, the linked mass cultures and so on. Moreover, from a macro-viewpoint called the Pacific Rim, I analyze the fundamental root cause of crack, division and opposition and pursue the policy and system issue to build and spread the coexistence space in the East Asia. |
