Abstract:
This research explores the persistence of cleavages in Thai politics
since the 2000s. We attribute this persistence to the organizational
innovations of the Thai Rak Thai party. In contrast to prior studies
that identified the TRT as a populist party with little organization,
we find that the TRT put in place systematized practices that deepened
its linkages with voters.
