\n– DANG Anrong<\/strong> (Tsinghua University): “Progress and Trends of Smart
\nCity Development in China”. By reviewing the progress of Smart City
\ndevelopment in China in recent years, five aspects will be summarized:
\nthe academic research achievements; the national policy constitution;
\nthe urban information infrastructure improvement; the application
\nsystem development; and the supporting system construction. From
\nthese, along with the development of new technologies and their
\napplication, the trends of Smart City development in China in the near
\nfuture can be deduced.
\n– HE Shenjing<\/strong> (The University of Hong Kong): \u201cEvolving enclave
\nurbanism in China\u201d. Enclave represents an internally homogeneous
\nterritorial unit dominated by distinct social, cultural, and economic
\nfeatures, demarcated by a clear boundary, either visible or invisible,
\nto differentiate insiders from outsiders. This presentation discusses
\nthe evolving processes and dynamics of China\u2019s enclave urbanism under
\nthe influence of various socioeconomic, cultural, institutional, and
\npolitical forces. It also aims to unpack the heterogeneity of urban
\nfabrics associated with enclave urbanism and to examine how different
\nsocial groups perceive and represent the social aspects of enclave
