Outline of Research
The purpose of this study is to research from a comparative perspective (a) the political participation of LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender) and (b) the response from the state and society to the LGBT community. This research focuses on the following four fields related to the LGBT community; 1) social movements of LGBT, 2) state, 3) society, and 4) judiciary and law.
Description
The purpose of this study is to research from a comparative perspective the political participation of LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender) as well as the response from the state and society to the LGBT community. This research focuses on the following four fields related to the LGBT community; 1) LGBT movements, 2) state, 3) society, and 4) judiciary and law.
1) The research on the LGBT movement will shed light on the strategy and organization of LGBT movements as well as the influence of democratization and globalization upon the movements. 2) The research on the state will analyze the policies and ideologies of the state regarding the LGBT. 3) The research on the society will focus on the changing perspectives of the society toward the LGBT community; the study will be conducted from the perspective of history and religion. 4) The research on the judiciary and law will focus on court cases and the legal status of LGBT people in various jurisdictions.
