The Wood Research Institute (presently Research Institute for Sustainable Humanosphere), Kyoto University, Japan and the Faculty of Forestry, Universiti Pertanian Malaysia (presently Universiti Putra Malaysia) had made a cooperative research on “Wood Physiology and Wood Technology” as a part of the JSPS Cooperation Programmes with Southeast Asian Countries under the General Exchange System from FY1984 to FY1993. A number of new scientific findings and important technological developments had been achieved on this research project by exchanging more than thirty wood scientists.

The Wood Research Institute (presently Research Institute for Sustainable Humanosphere), Kyoto University, Japan and the Faculty of Forestry, Universiti Pertanian Malaysia (presently Universiti Putra Malaysia) had made a cooperative research on “Wood Physiology and Wood Technology” as a part of the JSPS Cooperation Programmes with Southeast Asian Countries under the General Exchange System from FY1984 to FY1993. This report was prepared to wind up the developments and achievements of this project.
