-Research Interests: Termite and ant communities associated with agricultural intensification and urbanization in Southeast Asia, The evolutionary adaptive strategies of termites, Insect pest management program

The restoration of natural ecosystem services is pivotal to promoting sustainability in agriculture. Today, there is increasing evidence demonstrates that termites and ants have a great influence on “high biomass society,” particularly as a soil quality enhancer and pollinator, respectively. Considering Southeast Asia has great diversity in termite and ant fauna, many aspects of their roles in human resource utilization and agro-industrial production are understudied. Running parallel the project themed “Life and Green in Asean”, this prompted me to investigate how do termite and ant communities change along with agricultural intensification practices and urbanization? Do termites and ants work as ecosystem service provider or a pest?
