International Program of Collaborative Research, CSEAS

Selection of Collaborative Researches and Publications

Selected Collaborative Researches and Publications in 2013

Since its establishment in 1963, CSEAS has promoted integrated area studies in Southeast Asia, covering its history, nature, ecology, politics, society, economy and culture. Based on past achievements , CSEAS was selected as one of the “Joint Use/ Research Centers” by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and launched an “International Program of Southeast Asian Collaborative Research” in April, 2010. The objectives of the program are, 1) to promote Southeast Asian studies with an emphasis on the integration of the humanities and natural sciences and collaboration with local people and society, 2) to strengthen its function as a hub in Asia of historical documents and research materials on Southeast Asian studies, and 3) to publish world class academic journals and monograph series, and thereby provide researchers both inside and outside of Japan opportunities for promoting collaborative research and sharing CSEAS’s facilities and research materials.

In line with the above mentioned objectives, we will widely invite applications for collaborate research and publications every year. The details of application in 2013 are as follows.
