- The Marginal areas face severe agricultural condition, such as low soil
fertility, steep slope, drought and flood, widely spread in Asia Monsoon
Region. The marginal area has various agricultural technologies and culture
witch adjust to such environmental condition area by area.
- The purpose of this study is to clarify changing process on social, economy
and agriculture and to understand the current situation of subsistence
under industrial society in the marginal area.
- The focus areas are Dry Zone at Myanmar and Deccan Plateau at India and
Khorat Plateau at Thailand and Laos.
