    Dear all,
Regarding the upcoming CSEAS and Center for Asia-Pasific Area Studies(CAPAS) Academia Sinica Joint International Symposium on "Islam for Social Justice and Sustainability: New Perspectives on Islamism and Pluralisum in Indonesia scheduled on September 16-17, we deeply regret to announce that there is a sudden change that we are forced to make in the program.
To our great disappointment, we were informed that former president Wahid had to cancel his trip to Japan. Due to a serious deterioration in his health conditions, his doctors have prohibited him from making any overseas trips, and his daughter Ms.Yenny Wahid also had to cancel her trip following her father's cancellation. This news just came in last Sunday.
However, we are now inviting Mr.Masdar Farid Masudi, Head of Executive Board of Nahdlatul Ulama, in place of former President Wahid to make the keynote speech for our symposium. Please find the latest program as attached.
We deeply apologize for all the conveniences caused by this sudden cancellation and change, and appreciate your kind understanding of the situation.
If you are interested in attending the symposium and have not yet contacted us, please send an email to notify your participation by stating your name and affiliation to the following addresses as well.
