Dispatch of Young Researchers
Each research group seeks to further deepen joint research that has been advanced until now with its counterpart research institute.
Local fieldwork, including surveys, is essential for accurately perceiving ASEAN’s social economy and technological challenges and understanding them in detail. Building a broad research network among young researchers is especially needed to achieve this.
In the meantime, the issues directly facing ASEAN in recent years increasingly require highly technical and theoretical expertise for their resolution. Retreats in Japan for academically trained young researchers are therefore essential.
To deal with the issues tackled by this program, what is decisively critical is the “circulation of talented researchers,” realized by the comings and goings of young researchers in the network. This circulation of talent will be realized by the program’s implementation.
