CENTRE FOR ASEAN REGIONALISM UNIVERSITY OF MALAYA

The Centre for ASEAN Regionalism University of Malaya (CARUM) is looking for scholars for the following positions:

  • lecturers
  • research fellows
  • postdoctoral researchers

 

The centre focuses on the following:

  • research that involves the three pillars: socio-cultural, political and security, and economic
  • policy input and consultation
  • ASEAN networking
  • development programmes on ASEAN

 

Centre research focuses on the three ASEAN pillars – covering socio-cultural, political-security and economic issues. The Centre is also concerned with the particular way in which ASEAN has been leading wider regional endeavours – covering the development of Dialogue Partner relations, ASEAN Plus Three, the East Asia Summit, ADMM-Plus and ASEM. The role of track 2 initiatives may also be considered.

CARUM research objectives include:

  • the study of regionalism more broadly – as a development of growing global significance
  • the need to understand specific Southeast Asian approaches to regionalism
