生存基盤科学研究ユニット京滋フィールドステーション事業第29回研究会
  1. 下記のとおり、京都大学東南アジア研究所が担当する京都大学生存基盤科学研究ユニット京滋フィールドステーション事業（滋賀サイト型機動研究「在地と都市がつくる循環型社会再生のための実践型地域研究」）の研究会を開催致しますので、興味のある方はご参加ください。

  5. 発表タイトル：保津町の生き物共生でまちおこし　すいたん農園プラン
  6. 発表要旨：保津町は、自治会内に町づくりビジョン検討委員会という組織があり、亀岡駅の駅北開発をはじめとして、今回紹介するすいたん農園プランや、放置果実を用いた地元特産品づくりなど、住民らが積極的に地域の活性化に力を入れている。この地域は、数年前に大規模な圃場整備が行われた地域である。と同時に、天然記念物のアユモドキをはじめとする豊かな生物多様性に恵まれた農地を持つ。保津に愛着を持つ方々が、保津の自然、歴史、文化を残しつつ、町づくりを進めていく方向はないのか、駅北開発の検討委員会を通じ、部外者をとりこみつつ、いきもの共生で町づくりを理念にすいたん農園プランを立ち上げた経緯などを紹介する。

  3. 話　者：　Dr Lee Hua Seng（Sarawak Timber Association会長）
  4. 題　目：　Some aspects of forestry in Sarawak in the seventies
  5. Lee Hua Seng氏は、長年、サラワク森林局で仕事をされ、サラワク各地の森林を林務官の立場で観察されてきたと同時に、ランビル国立公園での調査等にも深く関わってこられましたので、日本人の生態学研究者との共同研究などにも数多くされています。それらの研究を元に、愛媛大学で博士学位を取得され、京都大学東南アジア研究所で客員教授を務められた経験もお持ちです。また、森林局退職後は、サラワク森林組合（STA）に籍を移し、STA会長として活躍されてきました。
  6. Lee氏は、基盤S・石川科研の現地協力者としても非常に重要な立場にある方です。そのLee氏がこのたび来日されることになりましたので、本科研のセミナーとして、話題提供をしていただくことになりました。
  7. 彼の林務官としての仕事は、本科研の調査地にも近いTatau周辺から始まっております。その彼の仕事の経験を生かして、本科研の調査地周辺の1970年代の状況や、森林局がサラワクの森林変化に果たしてきた役割などについて、メモワール的なお話をいただく予定です。　
Special Seminar (Asian Core Program)
You are cordially invited to a special seminar by Dr. Shu-Yuan Yang, Institute of Ethnology, Academia Sinica. Dr. Yang received her Ph.D. in Anthropology from the London School of Economics and Political Sciences of the University of London in 2001. At the time, her research was on the Bunun, an indigenous population in Taiwan. Subsequently, she has been working on the Ilongot of Northern Luzon, on such topics as land rights, state-minority relations and Christian conversion.

  3. 話　題：Topic: "Christianity, Headhunting, and History among the Bungkalot / Ilongot of Northern Luzon, Philippines"
  4. ABSTRACT：
    The invasion of the New Peoples’ Army (NPA) in the mid 1980s is a significant and marked event for the people of Gingin, a settlement located at the center of the Bugkalot area. It has stirred up feelings of fear, terror, panic, and anger among the local residents, who were predominantly Christians by this time. The killing of seven Bugkalot men at the hands of the NPA in July, 1988, has aroused Bugkalot Christians and some of them “backslid” and went headhunting again to revenge the deaths of their relatives. How do we comprehend the resurgence of headhunting among the Bugkalot when Christianity has already taken a strong hold? Is it just an old cultural habit that dies hard? Is it a slap at the face of missionaries who consider the eradication of headhunting their most important achievement? Does it demonstrate the insincerity of the Bugkalot’s conversion to Christianity? How do the Bugkalot themselves interpret the invasion of the NPA and the resurgence of headhunting? This article seeks to address these questions. I suggests that headhunting still figures significantly in the shaping of local memory and historical consciousness, however, the Bugkalot’s representations of the past have been reworked within the framework of Christianity. Christianity does not only serve as the meta-narrative of change, it also informs the ways in which the Bugkalot contemplate their existence in the world and their relationship with the Philippine state.

G-COE第33回パラダイム研究会「最終成果出版に向けて：第１巻の構想」
  1. 日　時：平成22年11月12日（金）16:30-18:30

  3. 趣 旨：
    最終成果出版に向け、第１巻の構想を討議します。第１巻では、熱帯を中心とした環境・技術・制度の長期的なダイナミズムを俯瞰し、熱帯から見た生存基盤のありようを、世界の歴史と現在の中に位置づけます。
    杉原先生には、第１巻の全体構想と第２編、第３編の狙いについて報告を頂きます。第２編では、生存基盤の観点から科学技術の役割を検討するために、経済史、医学、農学、工学の立場からの知見を紹介します。また第３編では、制度とそれを支える思想、価値観の長期的変化を熱帯の側から論じます。
    脇村先生には、第１編の構想をお話し頂きます。第１編は、地球環境史のパースペクティブから熱帯の位置を論じる内容で、森林、人口、疫病、水資源といった問題を地球規模で捉えることを通して、熱帯の生存基盤の脆弱性とレジリエンスを描き出します。
    峯先生には、第４編の構想をお話し頂きます。第４編は、歴史を踏まえつつ世界の同時代的な課題の中で熱帯の位置を論じます。国際関係と人の移動、土地と労働、ケアの制度と開発といった問題に焦点をあててゆきます。

  5. 演　題：Disparity Between Jakarta and Kyoto -The End of Public Spaces versus the Celebration of Public Spaces
  6. 発表要旨（当日は主に日本語による発表になります）：
    My presentation will interweave my own personal narrative and reflection during the academic journey observing Kyoto city during these two weeks.
    Within the framework of issue on sustainable development in megacities, I try to reconnect the observation finding with the case of Jakarta. Although there is a huge disparity between the two cities, by introducing some conditions of urban space in Jakarta, I will try to challenge the audience with the question: how to unveil the positive values on the current condition of Jakarta?
  7. 講師紹介：
  8. Dr.Evawani Ellisa graduated from Department Architecture Gajah Mada University in 1986 and accomplished her doctoral study in 1999 from Osaka University. Her dissertation focused on urban transformation and livability of inner city areas in Indonesian big cities, with the case study of Medan, North Sumatra. In University of Indonesia, she teaches Architectural Design Studio and Urban Design while also becomes an advisor for under graduate and graduate student thesis.
    She conducted many research and workshop on urban design, architecture, traditional environments and education matters. From 2000 until 2008, she was chief editor for KILAS Architectural Journal. In 2006 she was selected by JASSO Fellowship to undertake research on urban redevelopment in urban areas of Osaka, Japan. Recently she conducts some research projects on urban living heritage and contemporary public places in Jakarta. Her recent publications among others were:

湖北・余呉での焼畑収穫祭
  1. 東南アジア研究所が担当する生存基盤科学研究ユニット京滋FS事業の朽木フィールドステーションでは、地元の方々とともに、山焼きと在来の作物づくりに取り組んでいます。
    今年の夏も、滋賀県長浜市余呉町の赤子山及び中河内において火入れを行い、在来の山カブラを育てています。赤子山・中河内ともに、山カブラは順調に育っており、そろそろ収穫の時期を迎えようとしています。
    つきましては、下記の通り収穫祭を行う予定です。
    火入れにご参加いただいた方も、今回が初めての参加の方も、是非ご参加ください。

  4. タイトル：「カンボジア農村における子と高齢者の世帯間移動の互助機能」
  5. 要　旨：
    カンボジア農村に相互扶助慣行は存在するものの，いずれも何らかの目的に特化したものか，期間が限られたものであり，日常的に人々の生活を支える 性格ではないのが特徴である。こうした状況を踏まえ，先行研究では，カンボジアの農村社会に互助メカニズムがなく，農民は個人主義的だという議論 を進め，互助機能が弱いことを強調している。
    カンボジア北西部の調査村では，農作業や他の経済活動において親子関係であっても，独立した世帯間で共同関係が観察されることは稀である。しか し，子や高齢者のケア労働では，親族の間で子や高齢者を世帯から世帯へ移動させることにより「チュオイ＝支援」が行われていた。
    生産活動や金銭，モノの賃借・贈与関係から見ればカンボジア農村は個人主義的であり互助機能が弱いとも言える。しかし，子や高齢者のケアに目を向 けると，世帯を超えた親族ネットワークの広がりが見えてくるのである。
