-From Dissertation to Book-
Workshop with Prof. Thongchai Winichakul and Prof. Chie Ikeya
If you have finished your Ph.D. you are probably thinking of turning
your dissertation into a book. But writing a doctoral dissertation and
writing a publishable book are not the same. Revising the dissertation
is a shift from writing for a narraow audience (a commitee) to a broader
scholarly audience. This revision will may require major adjustments.
Although there is no single rule that can guide a researcher in the
process of getting publishable book out of your dissertation, it is very
helpful to hear from the scholars who have successfully done this.
Drawing on years of experience as a published scholar, two Visiting
Scholars at CSEAS, Professor Thongchai Winichakul and Professor Chie
Ikeya, will offer guidance on how to turn a doctoral dissertation into a
book.
The workshop will be an informal occasion; the two professors will give
advise and answer questions from the audience.
Anyone is welcome. No need to make a reservation.
