The symposium is an annual event that provides an open scholarly forum for scholars working on various aspects of languages of the greater Himalayan region: Burushaski, Kusunda, Tibeto-Burman, Indo-Iranian, Austroasiatic, Kradai, Andamanese, Nahali, Dravidian or any other language of the area.
