The Kyoto University Southeast Asia Forum is an international forum that applies research results for the benefit of society based on collaborations between CSEAS and alumni and alumna associations of Kyoto University in each country in Southeast Asia. Kyoto University has accepted a number of Southeast Asian students as foreign students or scholars since its establishment. At present, most of them are active in various fields such as education institutions, the government sector and private business upon return to their home countries. Kyoto University Southeast Asian Forum aims to promote the dissemination of research results of Kyoto University to Southeast Asian societies as well as maintain active alumni and alumna networks in this region. Since 2007, it has been held mainly in Thailand and Indonesia but sometimes in other countries such as Laos as well.
