The Information Processing Office is in charge of implementing various support activities for research and education activities. These are broad and just limited to the management of information infrastructures and systems. However, the Office is also a participant in research activities, cooperating with various communities, and suggesting frameworks for supporting research.
The Office has provided GIS systems to related departments and joint researchers through helping the GIS laboratory. Furthermore, it has researched systems related to data sharing and information transmission for information resources in cooperation with domestic libraries on joint research projects. Since 2012, the Office promotes collaborative activities, such as helping set up an e-book system for the Editorial Office, a framework for the research support with the Research Liaison Office, Editorial Office, and Library utilizing information and communication technology. For implementing various systems, the Office has aggressively worked together with related communities opening up knowledge to the public on web sites.
